Hello Friends,
Shonna Bucaroff did today's Advent devotional on His Kingdom Come. She was talking about waiting in expectation of the 2nd coming of our Lord Jesus and she mentioned the movie "Elf". That got me thinking about the scene in the movie where the department manager announces that Santa is coming to the store.
Can you imagine if we got that excited about Jesus coming? And why not? People jump and scream at sports events or rock concerts. Shouldn't a little excitement in our worship services be normal? I'm just sayin...
Anyway, as some of you know, I made my Advent journal out of used Christmas cards. I have been using those as inspiration for my art, as well as the daily devotionals at His Kingdom Come. The next available 'page' in my journal contained a note of encouragement from a dear friend. It was written at a time when things looked pretty bleak in my life. As I read it today I thought, "You were right, Linda. You were absolutely right. God is always good and I can trust him."
As we have entered into a new, brighter season in our lives, I can see the fruit that has come from my trials and I am able with the Psalmist to say, "Come and see what God has done!"
Almost all of my added pieces were cut from my old Christmas cards. The dove was a stamp that I fussy cut and popped up with foam tape.
I continued the waiting theme on my facing page with a poem I wrote this morning and a bird I punched from another Christmas card.
Here is the poem, in case it is too difficult to read from the photo.

I WAITED
Teresa Arsenault ©2015
Like a bird on a
branch
I waited
In the storm, in
the ice
Berated
Without
understanding
I waited
For answers that
came
Belated
I waited
I waited
For you
And by
And by
You came
And now
And now so elated
I would wait for you
again
Thank you for visiting my blog. I am truly blessed by the lovely comments you leave.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa
