Hello again,
In my last post I left you with one hot mess of a journal page background. Unfortunately I did not stop to take photos during the rest of the process. I find once I get a momentum, I just have to keep on going. This is the finished result.
I started by stenciling stars and circles with white paint. I used black archival ink for the question marks and "You have my heart" stamps within the circles. The question marks were inspired by Journal 52's Week 25: Questions & Answers. Often I approach the Lord with questions and concerns. Some of his answers are represented by the stamps embossed in gold. They are: "This is Love", because no matter what happens I know that he loves me. "Today, Tomorrow & Always" because he will never leave me and I will spend eternity with him. "Miracles Happen" because they do. I have experienced them and I have witnessed them - many times.
The silver starbursts came because of an accident at the bottom of the page. I used a Pilot Ultra Fine tip silver pen for the scripture, which is this week's verse at the free summer Faith Art Journaling course I am taking. When I was writing I accidentally pressed down on the tip too hard and got a big splotch of silver. If you have followed me for some time, you know one of my favourite quotes is "There are no mistakes in art; only opportunities to do it differently." I heard another quote recently that I like equally as well. "If you do it once, it is a mistake. If you repeat it, it is a design element." That is exactly what I did. I used a toothpick to draw out lines all around the wet silver puddle. Then I made more splotches and did the same with them. Ha!
Using one of my Praise Him digital images as a pattern, I cut out the shape from a paper 'quilt' I made last week. A leftover piece became the ground that she is lifting off from. Smaller splotches under her foot became stardust, lifting her into Heaven and before the Throne of Grace.
Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you feel inspired and just a little braver in your artistic endeavours. Most of all, I hope you know that you are beautiful and you are loved.
Blessing hugs,
Teresa

Beautiful page. I call mistakes my surprises, they are not planned, but they make us think again and carry on! Hugs, Valerie
